Fire protection and rescue services are provided on a 24 hour
basis by the Painesville Township Fire Department, whose capability
was recognized April 1, 1976, by an improved insurance fire class
rating of 5. The department mans two showplace fire stations located
on Nye and Bowhall Roads. Besides a full complement of firefighting
equipment, two rescue vehicles are housed at each station. Training
of firefighters for rescue and fire response is continuous. A
Fire Prevention Code was adopted in 1975.

- 1997 75' Quint 1500 G.P.M. Pump, 1,000' 4" hose; 500' 3" hose;
miscellaneous 2" and 1-3/4" hose and pre-connects.
- 1993 1250 G.P.M. Pump, 1,000' 4" hose; 150' 1-3/4" hose; 200'
1-3/4" hose; 200' 2-1/2" hose and pre-connects; 300' 3" hose,
600' 2-1/2" hose.
- One heavy duty rescue unit with air bags, rescue tools (jaws of
life); cribbing; air chisel.
- Two Paramedic squads with LifePak and AED equipped.
- One Jeep Cherokee four wheel drive miscellaneous vehicle.
- One Chief's car.

- 1994 1250 G.P.M. Pump, 1,000' 4" hose; 150' 1-3/4" hose, 200'
1-3/4" hose; 200' 2-1/2" pre-connects; 600' 3" hose, 700' 2-1/2"
hose; 200' 1-3/4" hose; thirty gallon foam tank pre-connect.
